How to play the dinosaur size comparison game
The dinosaur game gives you a fixed reference and a prehistoric target. Adjust the target silhouette from snout to tail until the estimated body length looks right, then lock in and compare your guess with the red true outline.
Dinosaur silhouettes are dramatic, so use the dimension instead of the visual area. The board tells you that length is the scored axis. A tall crest, long neck, or heavy tail can change the shape without changing the basic question: how many metres from front to back?

Nobody can place a living dinosaur beside a ruler. Paleontologists reconstruct body length from fossils, related species, trackways, and other evidence, so published estimates can vary. Size It Up uses one selected value for a clear game comparison and keeps that choice in the item record.
The visual challenge is still real even when the science has a range. A 12-metre dinosaur and a 6-metre dinosaur do not feel twice as different until you put their silhouettes on one board.
Use modern anchors for prehistoric scale
Start with a person, car, or bus before imagining the dinosaur. These familiar anchors help the prehistoric silhouette become a physical length instead of a movie effect. A small dinosaur can be car-sized, while a long sauropod can cross several everyday reference points.
Think in multiples, then check the tail. Many guesses are too short because the eye follows the torso and forgets how much length sits behind the hips.
